One unique lead is one person who wrote back, counted once for the month however many messages pass. Someone who comes back later the same month is still the same lead.

Why this is not your lead count

Leads captured, on your dashboard

Every lead record created in whatever date range you have selected. That includes ones you added by hand, imported from a CSV, or who filled a form and never said another word.

Unique leads, on this page

Only people who actually wrote back to the assistant, counted once for the calendar month. Someone in your pipeline who has not replied since June is not counted here, and does not cost you anything.

So the smaller number is the one you are billed on, and it will almost always be smaller. If it is ever the bigger of the two, something is wrong and I want to know about it.

What never counts

Visitors who read the chat and never type.
Someone who opens your text or email and never answers.
Bounced emails, undelivered texts, and opt-outs.
Reactivation sends to your old database, unless a person replies.
Every message after that person’s first reply, all month.
The same person coming back later in the month.
Anything you handled yourself, without the assistant.
